Dancehall act Shatta Wale has hinted of plans to release a song for the first man of the land Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo whom he describes as a friend.

Shatta Wale during the tenure of fomer President Mahama released a song titled “Mahama Paper” revealed that his understanding of what the public likes made him record that song which even ended up been used by their campaign team.

In an interview on Abusua FM, the “Gringo” hitmaker stated that there was the need for artistes in the country to talk about things going on in the society than singing around love all the time.

People must talk about what is happening in the society not always singing around love. People don’t want to promote us and that is what Shatta Wale has taken upon himself. You will brag I got this I got that, for me, I will sing for the people. And that is culture. That is why I’m able to do a song like Mahama Paper.

“ I want to do “Nana Paper” because Nana Paper has also come to be”, he added.

According to Shatta Wale, he doesn’t need to put on kente to be able to promote his culture.

Shatta Wale believes he is still promoting the Ghanaian language because it forms a larger part of the Ghanaian culture.

Shatta Wale is currently touring the country as part of his media tour for his much-anticipated album launch “The Reign” which is scheduled to be released in a few weeks time.
